About PourMath

What this site is

PourMath is a set of free concrete calculators built by the PourMath team for one job: telling you how much concrete to order before you pour. Every calculator runs instantly in your browser: no signup, no spreadsheet, no unit-conversion mistakes at the supply desk.

How the math works

Volume is geometry: length × width × depth, converted to cubic yards (how ready-mix is sold, 1 yd³ = 27 ft³) or pre-mixed bags (by published bag yields). Every calculator adds an editable waste allowance, defaulting to 10%, because trenches over-dig and subgrade is never perfectly flat. The formulas are shown on each calculator's page under “How the math works.”

Where the cost figures come from

Material estimates multiply your cubic yards by an editable ready-mix price (defaulting to a U.S. national ballpark). Installed-cost ranges are drawn from published national cost guides and are intentionally wide because region, site prep, thickness, and finish move real quotes a lot. Cost data last reviewed: June 2026. Ranges are planning ballparks, never quotes; for real numbers, get bids from local contractors (our quote form does exactly that).
